My involvement with photography started when I was a young child, watching my father printing photos in his darkroom.
This interest grew to the point where I wanted to make photography my career. I had the immense privilege of joining the new Documentary Photography course at Newport College of Art, where I was mentored by the Magnum photographer David Hurn.
Being on the course was a real turning-point in my photographic learning, and had a profound effect on my work.
Although I have had a number of different jobs in photography, I have always come back to working in documentary style.
Photography remains a major part of my life, and I could not imagine a future without being able to take pictures.
